15 years ago we found out that our son hadn’t got into his first choice for secondary school.
Disappointed as we were, he took it in his stride, went to the second choice and had a very happy successful time.
He went on to study psychology at university, met his future wife and now works in HR. At his wedding last year, those firm friends he made at secondary school were ushers, his best man and one of the bridesmaids.
He learned resilience; that if you really want to achieve something, hard work and sucking up the tough stuff is as valuable a lesson as anything you learn in the classroom.
For those who today may be facing disappointment and worrying about their youngsters future, take heart, relax, it really can turn out well!… show more show less
